NAMI Finger Lakes Family Forum, Tuesday 6:30PM- Downtown Outreach Workers

Join us Tuesday, September 22nd, at 6:30 PM Via Zoom as we welcome Tammy Baker, Downtown Community Outreach Worker for Family and Children’s Services of Ithaca, to discuss this essential service and how it impacts our community.

Local Outreach Workers are on the ground, in our community, to assess the needs of people in distress, engaging people with kindness, and often de-escalating potential conflicts.

Outreach Workers reach some of our most vulnerable community members, providing someone to talk with, help to find food or other basic needs, and connect people with resources that meet those needs.

Join us to hear how Tammy and colleagues meet these essential needs in our community every day.  All of their services are free of charge. For more information visit https://www.fcsith.org/community-outreach/

NOTE- The proposed Tompkins County 2021 budget eliminates the County’s $60,000.00 funding for this service. At NAMI FL, we believe this service is essential to our family members and friends living with mental health conditions and anyone else who is not having their basic needs met in our community.
