When someone loses a loved one to suicide, the need for support can be great. The following resources may be helpful to you or someone you know who has experienced this loss.

The Compassionate Friends- Ithaca Chapter– A self-help organization offering friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved families that have experienced the death of a child.

Hospicare & Palliative Care Services in Ithaca– Offers six free bereavement counseling sessions to anyone experiencing the loss of a loved one regardless of manner of death.

Smiling Through The Storms – When you find yourself left wondering why, dealing with the shock, disbelief, anger, numbness, the void that simply never ceases.  In this group, we all know and understand those thoughts and feelings.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention AFSP is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. Calling for help when you are in emotional pain is smart. We don’t give advice, judge, or try to fix you. We are here to listen, support, and guide you towards finding your own solution.

HOPE for Bereaved people understand that when someone close to you dies, it changes your life. Those suffering from grief need the support of others who share that experience.
